CSS students celebrate victories, learn music, and study with their teachers in the classroom

Dear Cold Spring School Families,

It’s been a wonderful week at Cold Spring! Our AI-inspired Professional Development Day on Monday provided teachers with innovative digital tools to enhance learning. It was also a great opportunity for us to collaborate and grow as educators. We hope you all enjoyed the extra time with your children over the long weekend!

This week, our second graders had an unforgettable adventure exploring the natural wonders of the Channel Islands and Scorpion Cove. A heartfelt thank you to the parents and staff who helped make this trip possible by driving and chaperoning.

I also truly enjoyed connecting with parents at our Principal’s Coffee this week. Your insights, questions, and shared commitment to our school community mean so much. These conversations help shape the future of Cold Spring School, and I appreciate you making time in your busy schedules to join me.

And what better way to spend the rainy day on Sunday than cozying up with a good book? Thank you to everyone who shared photos for Read Across America Day—it’s always a joy to celebrate the love of reading together.

Looking ahead:

  • Parent Club Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 11th at 8:30 AM.

  • Our next school tour is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12th at 9:00 AM.

Parent-teacher conferences are March 17-21, and they’re a wonderful opportunity for parents and teachers to come together and discuss student learning. Please note early dismissal this week:

  • TK & Kindergarten: 1:00 PM

  • Grades 1-6: 1:15 PM

The Dolphin Center will be available for all students immediately after dismissal. Please send an extra snack, as snack time will remain at its regular schedule. If your child returns to school while you attend a conference, please check them into the Dolphin Center.

Wishing you all a fantastic rest of the week!

Warmly,
Dr. Amy Alzina
Superintendent/Principal
