Dear Community: The information regarding the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and change. Yesterday, we learned that this virus is more contagious than originally believed to be. There is some evidence that the virus is airborne and may remain airborne for longer periods of time. This combined with information that carriers may be contagious before showing any signs of the illness requires that we be more vigilant to avoid further spread of the virus into our school community. Therefore, we have developed the following guidelines to protect our school community. Remote Learning: Remote learning will continue as planned and scheduled. Packet Pickups: There will be no further staffed packet pickups. When teachers leave packets to be picked up, the items will be left in an accessible area for you to pick-up. We will leave gloves out for you to use to safely pick up the packets. You will be notified by your teacher if there is any material to be picked up. Today’s packet pickup will be out in front of the campus on the Cold Spring Road from 2pm-5pm. Packets will be removed after 5pm. Office Staffing: The school will be closed to the public. Please do not come to the campus. Our phones will not be answered and voicemail will not be answered. We will have a skeleton crew available to handle pressing school business only. Campus and School Play Fields: For the safety of the community, the entire campus is closed, including playfields. Appropriate signage is placed at the entrances. Please have your children respect the school closure. We have been informed by the Office of Emergency Management that the peak of the virus in Santa Barbara County is expected to run between April 15 and May 27. It is crucial that we exercise extreme vigilance now to avoid being a part of that peak. We appreciate your patience and cooperation through this very trying time. We will pull through this crisis.
