There will be no school the week of March 25 - March 29. The School Office is closed on March 29. Enjoy the holiday! I’m looking forward to seeing all of our rested students on Monday, April 1st!
Board Meeting Highlights from the March 14, 2024 Regular Meeting
Dr. Alzina thanked the teachers for a productive and collaborative Professional Development Day.
Dr. Alzina thanked Brett Grube and Mark Gonzales for their leadership in organizing and preparing the Valentine’s Day Breakfast for the school.
Dr. Alzina recognized Yuri Calderon for being appointed the next SSDA Executive Director. Mr. Calderon will be working with SSDA to advocate for students in small school districts across the state.
Mr. Calderon announced Dr. Amy Alzina as the ACSA Region 13 (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties) Superintendent/Principal of the Year!
Dr. Alzina will host a Movie Night for the Cold Spring School students on Friday night.
Teachers are preparing for the upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Dr. Alzina presented the second trimester benchmark formative assessment data in ELA and Math that showed excellent student growth across all grades.
Mr. Calderon presented the Second Interim Report for the period ending January 31, 2024. Mr. Calderon reported a positive certification.
Congratulations to Ben De Olivera and Beck Bergakker!
A huge shout out to Ben De Olivera and Beck Bergakker for placing in the top ten at the Santa Barbara County Spelling Bee. Beck, sixth grade student, rounded out the top ten by placing 10th, while Ben took back a second place trophy with the word “enmity.” Ben and the first place winner, Aman Isukapalli, sixth grader from Isla Vista Elementary School, will represent Cold Spring at the California State Spelling Bee on Saturday, April 27 in Stockton at the San Joaquin County Office of Education! Both Beck and Ben are avid readers, a secret to their success! We are extremely proud of them!
