All Santa Barbara and Montecito Schools Track and Field Meet Results
Congratulations to all the Cold Spring School students that participated in the “All Santa Barbara and Montecito Schools Track and Field Meet” today at Westmont College. Russell Smelley, the Westmont Track and Field Coach, and I welcomed 11 schools (Peabody, MUS, Roosevelt, Adams, Cleveland, Washington, Harding, Monroe, Franklin, McKinley and Cold Spring). All students in grades four through six were encouraged to try-out for their school team. Every school brought their top athletes. This was a huge day for all of the students as many of them will be first generation college students. After the meet, all of the students got to enjoy friendship and lunch in the Westmont College Dining Commons.
The overall results are listed below. Only the top six athletes score points for their school, even though there are 22 athletes competing in each event (1st =10 points, 2nd = 8 points, 3rd = 6 points, 4th = 4 points, 5th = 2 points, 6th = 1 point).
