Much gratitude to our Cold Spring Foundation President, Melissa McCann, and Spring Event Chair, Shannon Montanaro, for coordinating an off-the-charts 80’s theme fundraiser at the Montecito Club! The music was “rad” with DJ Gavin Roy. Our MC’s Brian Finster and Tony Miller were totally awesome! The Social Book coordinated by Brooke Costello will keep your social calendar booked for the next year. Thank you for showing your support with your attendance and donations!
Green Day!
The Student Council is encouraging everyone to wear green to school on Friday, March 17th!
Student Council Newspaper Collection Fundraiser: March 13th - 17th
The Student Council is collecting newspapers to benefit B.U.N.S. (local bunny shelter), March 13th through March 17th. Drop off the donations outside of room 15 (Ms. Schaupeter’s classroom).
Living Legends
The second grade students did an exceptional job presenting their Living Legends reports to all the parents this morning. I’ve attached a few great photos for your review.
Library Van
The Santa Barbara Public Library Van will be in front of our campus today from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM for the community to check out books.
Parent/Teacher Conferences and Early Dismissal: March 20 - March 24
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be March 20 - 24. School will be dismissed early for all students all week. Kindergarten will be dismissed at 1pm. 1st grade - 6th grade will be dismissed at 1:15pm. Dolphin Center will be available for all grades immediately after dismissal.
Spring Break, No School: March 27 - March 31
There will be no school the week of March 27 - March 31. The School Office is closed on March 31. Enjoy the holiday!
Board Meeting Highlights from the March 13, 2023 Regular Session
Dr. Alzina and the Board thanked Melissa McCann, Shannon Montenaro, Brooke Costello, for hosting the Spring Fundraiser for the Specialist Programs. The event was a huge success.
Dr. Alzina thanked Zoe Copus for organizing the all school Read-a-thon. The Read-a-thon raised $17,000 for the Parent Club. The Parent Club donated $1,200 for books on diversity for classroom libraries.
The Board approved the district to move forward with installation of the new range hood in the school kitchen.
Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment, 2023-24 School Year
Incoming TK/Kindergarten Enrollment is happening now! Please contact the office to start the enrollment process so we can begin planning for the 2023-2024 school year. The Transitional Kindergarten window has been extended. If your child's 5th birthday falls between September 2nd and April 2nd, they qualify for Transitional Kindergarten. If you know anyone who is interested in taking a school tour, our next tour date is: Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 9:00 AM

Description: "Rockin' Reading" is a fun summer reading club designed to keep reading skills sharp and enthusiasm high for our young and wonderful readers. There will be word games, songs, dance, stories, and reading buddies. Classes are taught by Mrs. Lewis with special guest readers (upper graders) on occasion.
Additional note: You may register for any number of days/weeks. Just indicate the days you plan to have your child attend so that materials are prepared for them.

*Everyone is encouraged to attend all three Sessions, however, if that does not work for your summer plans you can sign up for individual sessions.

Description: Calling all 4th and 5th grade students! Come join Mr. Francisco and Dr. Gradias for a week of engineering, design, and FUN as you build a longboard from the ground up! In this week-long camp, you will put your math and tech skills to use as you construct and build a custom longboard. Graphic design, woodworking, and problem solving will be key components of this integrated project-based learning adventure.
