We are closing in on the end of the Wrapping Paper fundraiser! This fundraiser is important to all the terrific work the Parent Club does for the kids. It’s a busy time we know (!) but please support the parent club by sharing the web site and the school code widely with friends, family, and co-workers. It will really expand our fundraising potential. There will be a table outtomorrowmorning,Thursday, November 2nd to collect order forms and againon Mondaymorning. Starting Thursday, there will be a box in the office to collect order forms as well. Please put any money or checks in an envelope in the Parent Club Safe and the order forms in the box marked for the Gift Wrap fundraiser.

The Parent Club is bumping up their next meeting date to Tuesday, November 7th. The new time will be at 8:30am in order to allow for ample planning time for our annual Turkey Trot run and other upcoming events.

Dr. Gradias, Explore Ecology and a few Cold Spring Parents have been working together to set up a compost assembly for our students onTuesday, November 7th for K-2 and 3-6.  Explore Ecology will be there to teach our students about the HOW and the WHY of composting/recycling.  Following the assembly, classrooms will join Dr. Gradias for a 10 minute composting tour around our eating areas and garden.Way to go, GREEN TEAM!

With “Cakewalk music” thumping a beat in the background, the Cold Spring School Dolphins charged past Monroe in our flag football matchup during the Friday Fall Festival. Dana Whitney returned the opening kickoff for a score, and that seemed to set the tone.We had just five subs and that meant that all players got a lot of playing time. The defense limited the Monroe offense whether they ran or passed the ball. The tough pass rush sacked their QB time and again. Our pass defense put a tight lid on the Monroe pass attack. It was a solid team effort for CSS. We have our first playoff game this Friday down at Dwight. We do not know the opponent so stay tuned.
