The Governing Board voted unanimously to proceed with a search for a new Superintendent/Principal to replace our current Superintendent/Principal, Dr. Price, who will be leaving the position as of June 30, 2017.

The Governing Board met to interview a consultant from Education Leadership. After much discussion, the Board voted unanimously to hire McPherson & Jacobson to assist them in their search for a new Superintendent/Principal.

A Sub-Committee of the Governing Board met with Ben Johnson II and Robert Ferguson, the McPherson & Jacobson consultants who will be conducting our search. We began to develop a timeline for the search process, as well as a plan to gather input from various stakeholder groups to identify the most important characteristics, skills, and experience that we would all like our new Superintendent/Principal to possess.
January 31, 2017
The Governing Board met to discuss and consider certain details regarding the Superintendent/Principal search process. We developed the following timeline:
February 6- McPherson & Jacobson will commence advertising the position
February 21 and 22- McPherson & Jacobson will conduct community stakeholder meetings.
March 24 -The applications window will be closed.
April 7 and 8- The Governing Board will review applications and select candidates to interview.
April 28 and 29- Candidate interviews will be conducted.
April 29- The Governing Board will select our new Superintendent/Principal
May 8- The Governing Board will approve the contract and introduce the new Superintendent/Principal to the community.
TBD- A reception will be held to welcome our new Superintendent/Principal.
The Governing Board identified the stakeholder groups that will be invited to meet with the McPherson & Jacobson consultants on February 21 & 22 to provide their input as to the characteristics, skills, and experience that they would all like our new Superintendent/Principal to possess. A schedule of the stakeholder meetings will be posted soon.
The stakeholder groups are:
CSEA teachers/Specialist teachers
Administration and Special Education
Cold Spring Foundation
In addition, an evening meeting will be held to which the entire community will be invited and an online survey will be conducted.
To assist and inform the Board during the interview process, the Board will select an 8-member committee (made up of representatives from the various stakeholder groups listed above) who will conduct their own interviews of the final candidates. More information about the selection of the members of this committee and the interview process will be posted soon. The committee’s input to the Board will be advisory, and the Board will make the final decision as to who to hire as our new Superintendent/Principal.
